In September 2025, we added an Optomap scanner to our practice – one of only a handful available in optometry practices across the Highlands! Alongside our OCT scans, these advanced imaging options are recommended by our Optometrists, Calum and Natalie, and provide an invaluable tool for assessing your eye health. Optomap captures a wide-angle image of the back of your eye (retina), showing over 80% compared to standard images of 12-15%, while OCT gives a detailed cross-sectional view, both helping to detect early changes that a standard sight test might miss. These scans are optional and will be offered to you at the time of booking. These scans are not included as part of an NHS sight test and are a private addition to compliment the detailed exams we already offer.
OCT SCANS ARE FREE OF CHARGE FOR ANYONE 80 YEARS AND OVER, AS PART OF YOUR ROUTINE SIGHT TEST – YOU WILL RECEIVE THE OCT SCAN FREE, REGARDLESS OF WHAT OPTION YOU BOOK.
We are a busy practice, so appointments need to be booked in advance. Please note, we do not offer a walk-in service for sight tests. If you cannot find a suitable appointment on our website, please call us as we may have appointments that are not showing online.
